The Texas Comptroller says it will post a new Education Freedom Accounts webpage with an initial set of data this week.
Comal County families and taxpayers will be able to inspect the statewide data once the page is posted. The announced posting would give them a first public look at program information, though the agency has not specified which fields will appear. In its Oct. 26 announcement, the agency said more than 100,000 students were enrolled and more than 100,000 were on a waiting list. Those are statewide figures; the announcement gives no Comal County count.

The agency says the page will expand over the coming weeks into a searchable dashboard. Among the fields it plans to add are applications, funded accounts, waiting-list totals, participation by priority tier, income distribution, an ISD participation heat map and public school enrollment impact. The announcement describes those as future additions, so readers should not expect every field in this week’s first posting.
Comptroller Don Huffines also announced plans for an independent, third-party program audit in addition to a State Auditor’s Office audit. The release gives no completion date or findings for that additional review.
The next check is the first posting itself: compare the fields it contains with the promised additions in the Comptroller’s announcement. That official account identifies what the agency says it will release, while the future page will show what residents can actually inspect.
