Schertz City Council has scheduled Sept. 15 hearings on two Comal County zoning requests covering 10.7 acres and 5 acres.
Residents can comment before council considers rezoning 10.7 acres near FM 482 and Schwab Road and 5 acres near FM 2252 and I-35.
The larger request, Ordinance 26-S-023, would place about 10.7 acres roughly 900 feet northwest of FM 482 and Schwab Road in the Public Use District. The notice identifies the land as Comal County property 56613.
Ordinance 26-S-030 would change about 5 acres from General Business to General Business-II. That tract is described as roughly 1,555 feet east of FM 2252 and the northbound I-35 access road and as part of Comal County property 73267.
These are the same Comal County requests scheduled for Planning and Zoning Commission hearings Sept. 2. The commission notice says that body will make recommendations; Comal.News’ earlier zoning-hearing brief explains the two-stage schedule and locations.
Neither zoning change is approved. City Council’s hearings begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Building 4. The city notice invites anyone with an interest to attend.
Residents can inspect the Sept. 15 public notice for the ordinance numbers, property identifiers and participation details. The next records to watch are the Planning and Zoning Commission’s recommendations and the City Council’s actions after its hearings.
