Schertz will hold Sept. 2 hearings on two Comal County rezoning requests covering about 15.7 acres, and the Planning and Zoning Commission will make recommendations rather than final decisions.
The requests cover 10.7 acres near FM 482 and Schwab Road and 5 acres east of FM 2252 at the I-35 North access road in Comal County.
The city posted the hearing notice Aug. 20, putting both Comal County requests before residents ahead of the commission’s recommendation stage.
Case PLZC20260186 seeks Public Use District zoning for the 10.7-acre tract, identified as Comal County Property ID 56613. Case PLZC20260143 would change the 5-acre tract from General Business District to General Business District-II.
A third hearing involves about 0.19 acres at 12235 Aztec Way in Bexar County. That request, PLZC20260187, also seeks Public Use District zoning.
The commission is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers at 1400 Schertz Parkway, Building 4. The city notice invites anyone with an interest to attend.
The next public checkpoint is the commission’s recommendation on each request. Residents can use the official hearing notice to verify the parcel IDs, requested zoning categories and attendance information before the meeting.
