The Aug. 18 special-meeting agenda schedules council consideration of the city’s proposed property-tax rate.

New Braunfels City Council will consider a proposed $0.408936 property-tax rate Tuesday, Aug. 18, adding a decision point to the city’s fiscal 2027 budget calendar.

For a median-valued homestead, the city estimates a $1,150 bill in Comal County and a $971 bill in Guadalupe County under that rate. Those estimates are $24 and $39 lower, respectively, than the current-year figures in the city’s taxpayer statement.

The special-meeting agenda, posted Wednesday, also schedules a presentation on the proposed fiscal 2027 budget and the city’s no-new-revenue and voter-approval tax rates. Council is being asked to approve a proposed rate; the agenda does not describe Tuesday’s action as final adoption.

The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers, 550 Landa St. The posted notice does not provide the dates for a tax-rate hearing or final budget adoption.
