Fair Oaks Ranch's Transportation Safety Advisory Committee is scheduled to review transportation safety submittals and may select its chair and vice chair on Nov. 4.

The packet places school peak-hour congestion, left-turn safety and an intersection concern before the committee as issues raised by local road users. The agenda calls item 7 a status report, so the useful question for residents is whether staff reports progress on the requests already listed in the packet.

The posted agenda schedules a status report and possible selection of committee officers; neither entry records a Nov. 4 outcome.

The Transportation Safety Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the Public Safety Training Room at the Police Station, 7286 Dietz Elkhorn Road, Fair Oaks Ranch. Residents who want to speak during “Citizens to be Heard” are directed to sign the attendance roster; the agenda sets a five-minute limit for each speaker. The agenda directs people requesting an accommodation to contact the City Secretary at (210) 698-0900 at least 48 hours before the meeting.

Where the traffic requests stand

The packet's status table lists the Fair Oaks Parkway/FM 3351 concern as pending TxDOT approval and says staff requested an update on Sept. 28. That entry gives the committee a specific status to revisit: the approval is listed as pending in the material prepared for Nov. 4. The packet also records a Pimlico Lane/Ralph Fair Road sight-distance request and says TxDOT trimmed vegetation there Oct. 9. Those entries concern different intersections and different stages of work; the Nov. 4 report is an opportunity to clarify each one.

The Dietz Elkhorn and Chartwell request describes school peak-hour congestion, queue spillback and left-turn safety concerns. The same table says a dedicated left-turn-lane recommendation was incorporated into the Dietz Elkhorn reconstruction plan and lists a Nov. 5 City Council presentation as pending. A recommendation within a project plan is a different step from construction; the listed council presentation is the next public point at which readers can check how the proposal advances.

An Aug. 25 submission from the Dietz Elkhorn East area raises concerns about speed, noise and safety for people walking, bicycling or using golf carts. These are the submitter's concerns, not measured speed findings. The packet's status table says staff plans to contact the submitter after reconstruction in 2027. Readers following that request can compare the committee's Nov. 4 report with the status and follow-up timing printed in the packet.

Leadership and other business

The committee may select a chairperson and vice chairperson for one-year terms. The packet's consideration sheet says its rules call for that selection at the first fiscal-year meeting following new appointments. The posted motion form contains blanks for the selections, so the Nov. 4 record will be the place to verify any result. The committee is also scheduled to consider approval of its May 6, 2026, minutes and recognize Allan Schmidt.

The remaining agenda sequence covers roll call and a quorum check, the pledge, an opportunity for citizens to speak, and adjournment. The posted agenda identifies the leadership selection as possible action and the transportation submissions as a status report. Readers can use the numbered agenda to distinguish those purposes when checking the later committee record.

What to check next

After Nov. 4, the committee's meeting record can establish any officer selections and what staff reported about the road requests. The packet's status table supplies the starting point for checking the pending TxDOT approval, the Dietz Elkhorn recommendation and the follow-up scheduled after reconstruction. The listed Nov. 5 City Council presentation is a separate next step for the Dietz Elkhorn plan.
