The court approved the agreement accepting donated roofing services for improvements to Jumbo Evans Sports Park and authorized the county judge to sign.
The project would replace the concession stand's roof with a standing-seam metal system and includes tear-off, debris removal, flashing, underlayment and site cleanup. That would give players and families using the Bulverde Youth Soccer Association concession stand a new roof.
The agreement values the donated roof at $44,320, while Strong Roofing Texas' proposal lists no payment due from the owner.
What the donation covers
Strong Roofing Texas estimates six to eight working days for the job. The scope calls for removing the existing roofing down to the deck, inspecting exposed decking and framing, installing weatherproofing and a 1.5-inch double-lock standing-seam roof, hauling away debris and coordinating access around field and facility schedules.
The documents describe two layers of warranty coverage. The county agreement requires a one-year materials warranty; the contractor's proposal lists a five-year leak-and-workmanship warranty on its direct work and a 40-year manufacturer warranty on the metal.
The meeting material also includes a contractor certificate listing general-liability, excess-liability and workers' compensation coverage for Strong Roofing Texas.
What happens next
The agreement begins on the date of the last signature and remains in force until the donated project is completed or canceled.
A county-signed agreement or project update would establish when the six-to-eight-day job can begin. The copy posted with the Sept. 10 agenda carries the contractor's signature but leaves the county signature line blank.
The reviewed Sept. 10 agenda, donation agreement, roofing proposal and contractor insurance certificate do not state what caused the roof damage, whether the county filed a property-insurance claim or who would pay for structural repairs outside the donated scope.
The proposal says additional decking beyond five sheets would be billed at $97 per sheet after prior approval. A construction update or change order would show whether crews find concealed damage and which party approves and pays for added work.
