Residents and businesses along Coll Street should expect detours, heavy equipment and occasional driveway impacts as work moves through the corridor. The city's plan calls for Coll Street to close to through traffic one block at a time during box-culvert construction, beginning near the Comal River and moving toward Castell Avenue. That is a phased closure plan, not a closure of the entire corridor at once.
What the city says to expect
The city says crews generally will work Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. At the Seguin Avenue intersection, the plan is to work on one half at a time while maintaining two-way traffic. The city identifies Pesado as the contractor. Its announced schedule anticipates completion in early 2028; the timing of a particular block's closure will depend on the project's phases.
The city puts the total project cost at $9.6 million and its share at about $8.2 million, funded by the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation.
