Council approved adding a stop sign at the intersection of Casey Road and Barton Hill Drive. The action is documented in the official meeting recording from Sept. 22.
Drivers on Barton Hill Drive will have to stop at Casey Road, while Casey Road traffic will remain free-flowing once the sign is installed. The meeting packet calls for a warning plaque indicating that Casey Road traffic does not stop and lists a preliminary cost of $174 for the two signs and hardware.
The recommendation called for converting the existing yield control on Barton Hill Drive to a stop while Casey remained free-flowing. It grew from a Freese and Nichols study that examined five intersections and four road segments using crash history, sight distance, traffic volume, vehicle-speed data and site observations.
