The city packet prices a raised crosswalk across Versace to the Edgebrook neighborhood pool and playground at $35,000, compared with $260 for two 25 mph signs on Vuitton and $260 for two on Marvel.
What the study put on the list
The underlying safety study covered five intersections and four road segments. In the Edgebrook area, it recommended 25 mph signs on Marvel and Vuitton and a raised crossing on Versace, with a further evaluation of whether stop signs or pedestrian ramps should shift to safer locations.
The same itemized table lists $90 for two replacement 30 mph signs on Wiley Road, $260 for two 30 mph signs on Brand Road near Shepherds Ranch and $130 for one 30 mph sign on Casey Road near Monica View. The table says the Casey Road pavement markings and lane-width work had already been completed.
In August, the city’s study recommended lower speeds and new signs across several Bulverde roads; the Sept. 22 packet supplied the itemized prices council had requested. A separate Sept. 22 action approved a stop sign at Casey Road and Barton Hill Drive.
What happens next
The packet says implementation would remain subject to available funding and coordination with TxDOT and Comal County where applicable. The next useful public records are a city purchase order or implementation update showing which signs will be installed first, plus a future agenda item returning the raised crosswalk for a funding or construction decision.
