The 1330 Fieldcrest short-term rental request now moves to an Oct. 7 Planning Commission hearing and an Oct. 26 City Council first reading, but the city’s notice gives the proposed zoning two different labels.

The first public-comment opportunity is the Oct. 7 Planning Commission hearing; City Council would need two readings before any zoning change takes effect.

The newspaper-notice section says Schumann Consulting, acting for Fieldcrest Moose Lodge LLC, requested the change for approximately 0.32 acre in Rivercrest Heights Unit 4, Lot 25. It describes a change from R-1, the single-family district, to C-O SUP, a commercial-office district with an overlay allowing short-term rental of a residence.

A shorter case-description block on the same page instead lists the current zoning as R-1 and the request as “R-1 SUP for STR.” One description would retain the residential base district; the other names a commercial-office base district.

If Council approves the request at both readings, the city says the zoning change would take effect after the second reading. The Planning Commission packet and recommendation should identify the governing zoning request and any proposed operating conditions.
