New Braunfels ISD trustees are scheduled to consider a city school resource officer agreement, a Comal County Central Appraisal District land purchase and support plans for two elementary schools on Nov. 9.

These are possible actions on the posted agenda, not decisions already made. Families following school safety, campus support and district property can read the official agenda before the meeting.

The posted Nov. 9 agenda lists the proposed city agreement for trustee consideration.

The proposed support plans concern students at Voss Farms and Memorial elementaries, while the officer agreement concerns school safety services. The same meeting includes a public hearing on compensatory education and discussion of three draft calendars for 2027–28. Those discussions give families a chance to see the options before any later calendar action.

School safety, land and campus plans

The board's posted business separates possible approvals from discussion. Item 10.E calls for trustees to consider an interlocal agreement with the City of New Braunfels for school resource officers. Approval would require board action at the meeting; the agenda itself establishes only that the agreement is up for consideration.

Item 10.F asks trustees to consider a Comal County Central Appraisal District land purchase. The agenda places the purchase before the board but, by itself, does not establish an approved transaction. The terms and any recorded action will matter to residents tracking district property and spending.

Item 10.A lists possible approval of targeted support plans for Voss Farms and Memorial elementaries. Item 10.B separately lists district and campus improvement objectives for possible approval. Families at those schools can use the posted agenda to identify which plans and objectives trustees will take up; a listing for consideration is not evidence that a plan has been adopted.

The remaining possible approvals in item 10 are an emergency closure staff pay resolution and New Braunfels High School weight room equipment. Those questions concern how employees would be paid during an emergency closure and what equipment the high school could receive, subject to the board's eventual action.

Calendars, instruction and district finances

Three draft 2027–28 school calendars are scheduled for discussion under item 9.A, rather than approval. Families planning around school dates can review the options, but the Nov. 9 agenda does not set an adopted calendar. Trustees are also set to discuss instructional and library materials policy, legislative priorities and which matters might move to the following month's consent agenda.

The board is scheduled to receive demographic, staffing and resource, sustainability, and budget workshop reports. Those presentations may give context for later choices about enrollment, services and spending; the posted report headings do not themselves record a budget change. The consent agenda lists an investment report and the Oct. 19 meeting minutes for possible approval together.

A public hearing is scheduled on 2025–26 compensatory education. The agenda also places an open forum before trustees. Residents who want to follow either opportunity can inspect the named hearing and open-forum entries in the official meeting notice; the retained agenda identifies the opportunities but supplies no speaker-registration instructions.

When and where to participate

The New Braunfels ISD Board of Trustees' regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the NBISD Administration Center Boardroom, 1000 N. Walnut, New Braunfels. The posted agenda includes an open forum and a public hearing on 2025–26 compensatory education.

The agenda begins with opening formalities and student and staff recognition. It also notices an executive session for personnel, the superintendent review and legal consultation concerning Huckabee, followed by a separate item for possible public action on a Huckabee amendment. A closed-session notice describes a permitted subject for discussion; the public-action item is where a board decision could be recorded.

The next listed regular meeting is Dec. 14. For the Nov. 9 questions, the useful next record is the board's account of any motions, votes or deferrals. Readers can return to the Nov. 9 BoardBook agenda to identify each item and check its eventual disposition without treating a proposal as an approval.
