The deadline to register for Comal County's Nov. 3, 2026 election was Oct. 5; voters who met it can check their registration and precinct ballot before voting early Oct. 19–30 or on Election Day.

The Texas Secretary of State says a registration application had to be received or postmarked by Oct. 5 to qualify for this election. Someone registering after that deadline should not assume the new registration will make them eligible to vote on Nov. 3.

Check registration and your ballot

The Secretary of State says voters can check registration through its “Am I Registered?” search using a voter identification number, a Texas driver license number supplied with the registration application, or a first and last name. They can also call their county voter registrar. Comal County's elections office is at 396 N. Seguin Ave. in New Braunfels and can be reached at 830-221-1352. If you moved, check the registration record before relying on an old voter certificate; the state's guidance explains that address changes for this election also had an Oct. 5 deadline.

Comal County's sample-ballot list varies by precinct and includes separate Comal ISD, Schertz and Crystal Clear versions. Use the county elections page to identify your precinct and open the matching November 2026 sample ballot; its ballot list also shows why a neighbor in a different precinct may see different local contests. The page posts election notices for other jurisdictions, including the Comal Appraisal District, Edwards Aquifer Authority and Comal County Water Improvement District No. 3B. Those notices do not mean every contest appears on every voter's ballot.

For Comal ISD voters, the district says its bond election has two propositions and that voters may vote on both. Comal ISD extends into five counties, so a district resident outside Comal County should use that resident's own county election office for voting sites and ballot information.

Choose an early-voting site and time

The county lists six sites on the same early-voting schedule: the Elections Office, 396 N. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels; Mammen Family Public Library, Room A, 131 Bulverde Crossing, Bulverde; the Bulverde Annex JP No. 2 courtroom, 30470 Cougar Bend; the Church Hill Annex training room, Suite 1400, 1345 Church Hill Drive, New Braunfels; St. Francis by the Lake Episcopal Church large room, 121 Spring Mountain Drive, Canyon Lake; and Garden Ridge City Hall municipal court room, 9400 Municipal Parkway. The schedule specifies that emergency and limited ballots are available only at the main Elections Office location.

Comal County identifies itself as a vote-center county. For Nov. 3, use the Election Day polling-location document linked from the county elections page rather than assuming your early-voting site will be open. The Texas Secretary of State lists Election Day voting hours as 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Bring ID or check mail-voting eligibility

Comal ISD's voting guide says Texas voters should bring one of seven approved forms of photo ID, such as a Texas driver license or Texas Election Identification Certificate. The Secretary of State says a voter who cannot reasonably obtain an approved photo ID may be able to present a supporting document, such as a current utility bill or voter registration certificate, and complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling place. Its FAQ distinguishes that situation from simply forgetting an ID the voter possesses. Check the state's full guidance if your circumstances differ.

Voting by mail is limited to qualifying voters. The Secretary of State lists circumstances including being 65 or older on Election Day, sickness or disability, and being away from the county on Election Day and during early-voting hours. The county elections page links English and Spanish ballot-by-mail applications. Comal County says its early voting clerk must receive an application by close of business Oct. 23; the schedule gives the mailing address as Bobbie Koepp, Early Voting Clerk, 396 N. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130. That is a receipt deadline for the application, not a mailing date.

Before making a plan, revisit the county elections page for your precinct's sample ballot and the posted Election Day locations. For a registration, ballot or mail-voting question tied to your own circumstances, call the Comal County Elections & Voter Registration office at 830-221-1352.
