Comal County’s election portal lists Resolution and Order No. 07-26-151 ordering Nov. 3 elections for EAA districts 8 and 9. If the EAA board approves the draft action, Comal County voters in districts 8 and 9 would not cast ballots in those aquifer-authority contests on Nov. 3.
The listed action covers eight EAA single-member districts: 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13 and 15. The draft frames the action as accepting a certification that the candidates are unopposed, declaring them elected and canceling those district elections.
The same draft separately proposes an election-services contract with the Bexar County elections administrator for EAA District 1. That distinction limits the cancellation proposal to the eight districts named in item G.4; it does not describe the cancellation of every EAA contest or the broader Nov. 3 election listed by Comal County.
The EAA Executive Committee will consider approving the draft at noon Sept. 1; the draft sets the board meeting for 1 p.m. Sept. 8 and a remote-comment registration deadline of 4 p.m. Sept. 7. The draft directs remote speakers to register through the board secretary’s office before that deadline.
Today’s committee action would approve or revise the board agenda; it would not itself cancel an election. The committee’s item page says additional recommendations may be added before the final agenda, and the committee notice says its actions are not final actions of the EAA board.
