The EAA Executive Committee approved the Sept. 8 board agenda, keeping a proposal to declare unopposed candidates elected and cancel contests in eight districts.
For Comal County, the proposal would cancel EAA contests in districts 8 and 9 if the full board approves it Sept. 8. If the board adopts item G.4, voters in EAA districts 8 and 9 would not cast ballots in those director contests, and the unopposed candidates would be declared elected. Comal County’s election page currently lists the July order that called the two elections.
The committee’s action advanced the proposal but did not cancel any contest. Its published notice says committee action is not final action by the full board. The action item records a passed status and a Sept. 1 final-action date for approving the draft board agenda.
The full Edwards Aquifer Authority board is scheduled to meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 8 in the EAA Board Room in San Antonio. The draft agenda says remote speakers must register by 4 p.m. Sept. 7 using the email address or telephone number provided in the notice.
The board’s vote and any adopted resolution or order are the next records that can establish whether the contests are canceled.
