Comal County commissioners are scheduled to consider a land purchase and donation for Morton Preserve on Nov. 5, while NBISD trustees review fall student data Nov. 2 and Garden Ridge council members plan Nov. 7 priorities.

Residents can follow a proposed preserve expansion, school outcome data and city priorities through three separate public meetings this week. The three official notices schedule separate meetings on Nov. 2, Nov. 5 and Nov. 7. Each agenda describes business scheduled for its own meeting; the proposed county agreements and the city’s planning discussion remain ahead.

The BoardBook notice lists a Nov. 2 workshop on fall student data.

Monday: NBISD reviews fall student data

The New Braunfels ISD board workshop is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. at the NBISD Administration Center Board. Its substantive focus is evaluating and improving student outcomes through a fall student data review. The agenda also lists an open forum for public comment. The posted notice identifies the center but supplies no street address in the retained agenda text.

The workshop agenda frames the data review as board business, without listing a separate proposed policy or spending decision in the retained notes. For families, the immediate public question is what trustees learn from the fall figures and whether they direct further work. The official BoardBook agenda provides the meeting notice and the listed order of business.

Thursday: land, roads and animal services before commissioners

Comal County Commissioners Court is scheduled to meet Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom, 100 Main Plaza, New Braunfels. One proposal would combine a roughly 165-acre purchase with an approximately 135-acre donation for an expansion of Morton Preserve, using Texas Parks and Wildlife Department habitat funds. The county land proposal would expand Morton Preserve through a purchase and donation if approved.

The same county agenda places proposed Veramendi road and stormwater acceptance and related surety releases in items 4–6. Commissioners also have a proposed interlocal agreement with the Humane Society for animal-control care and services in item 9. Those entries could affect how completed infrastructure is accepted and how animal-care services are arranged; the agenda alone does not establish that either proposal has taken effect.

Other listed county business includes park lighting, a towing order, a grant and transfers. Readers can inspect the numbered proposals in the official Commissioners Court agenda. The next scheduled decision point for the preserve land proposal is the Nov. 5 Commissioners Court meeting.

Saturday: Garden Ridge plans its priorities

Garden Ridge City Council has a special meeting scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, at 9 a.m. in City Council Chambers, 9400 Municipal Parkway. The sole substantive item identified in the posted agenda is a strategic planning retreat and workshop facilitated by Clear Career Professionals LLC. Council members are scheduled to address priorities, development and implementation strategy; the notice does not state a resulting plan or decision.

For residents seeking the eventual direction, the official Garden Ridge meeting agenda identifies the workshop to watch. The next useful records will be the official outcomes from each meeting, especially any county action on the preserve land proposal and any direction recorded after Garden Ridge’s retreat.
