Comal ISD trustees are scheduled to hear a 90th Legislative Session update and priorities at their Nov. 5 board workshop.

The legislative presentation is one of six reports on the posted workshop agenda, alongside student readiness, communications, technology, human resources and board team building. For families following how statewide policy could shape district plans, the immediate public record is the list of subjects trustees will hear, with the presentation itself still to come.

Comal ISD’s posted agenda sets out six reports for the Nov. 5 board workshop.

The posted agenda groups six presentations under Superintendent Reports and Board Information. That placement matters when reading the notice: it identifies a workshop built around reports rather than a list of adopted changes. The practical test after Thursday will be what the presenters say and whether trustees give any direction that appears in a subsequent public record.

State priorities and student pathways

Item 4.A lists a 90th Legislative Session update and priorities, with Julia Grizzard named as presenter. Residents who follow school funding, accountability or state requirements can use this part of the workshop to hear which priorities the district chooses to describe. The posted topic alone does not establish a district position on a particular bill. The useful follow-up is the presentation or later board record that identifies a priority in specific terms.

Families can hear the district’s college, career and military readiness update at the Nov. 5 workshop. Item 4.B names Corbee Wunderlich, Tammy Pinkham and Renee Martinez for that report. Listeners can look for the measures, student groups and time periods used in the presentation: those details would let families distinguish a current result from a goal or a change over time. The agenda establishes the topic and presenters; it supplies no readiness figures to compare.

District operations and board work

The agenda lists a communications update by Christina Eckert as item 4.C. Families who rely on district notices can listen for which channels or information needs the presentation addresses. Any change to how the district communicates would need to be checked against the presentation or a later district record.

Item 4.D is a Technology & Digital Learning update by Scott Monroe and Jillian Pratt. For students and families, the useful questions are what tools or services the district describes, who uses them and whether any timetable or cost is identified. The posted listing establishes a report topic, without itself establishing a new technology purchase or classroom rule.

A human resources report by Dr. Jason Gilstrap appears as item 4.E. Staffing is a service question for families, but this agenda gives the report’s subject rather than a staffing count or proposed personnel action. The presentation can provide the figures and period needed to assess any claimed change. Item 4.F, board team building with Courtney Biasatti, completes the six-report sequence; the agenda also lists Board President’s Comments separately before those reports.

How residents can participate and check what happens

The board workshop is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., according to Comal ISD’s posted agenda. Its order begins with a call to order, then Public Comment/Audience Participation and Board President’s Comments, followed by the six reports and adjournment. The posted agenda says public comments at this special meeting are limited to its posted items. Residents planning to speak can identify the relevant numbered report in the official agenda and consult the district’s current meeting materials for participation instructions and location before traveling.

The next verification point is the Nov. 5 workshop itself and any presentation materials or later public board record. The district’s posted agenda is the place to check the six item labels and meeting details now; subsequent records will show whether the reports supplied concrete figures, priorities or a next board step.
