The renewal packet raises the combined monthly premium from $592.84 to $610.50, a $17.66 increase.
Retirees keep the full bill
The approved renewal keeps direct billing, with retirees invoiced for 100% of the cost and the county contributing $0 toward premiums. The program is for retirees who meet the county’s retirement qualifications and are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B.
The prescription rate drives the increase
For Package 1, the 2027 rate table holds the medical portion at $298.51 while raising the prescription portion from $294.33 to $311.99.
The packet also lists two lower-priced medical-and-prescription packages. Package 2 costs $278.03 a month, while Package 3 costs $568.01; each carries different medical and prescription benefits from the continued option.
