The court accepted a $20,000 donation from the Bulverde Youth Soccer Association for phase-two soccer-field lighting at Jumbo Evans Sports Park.
Soccer players who use BYSA’s fields at Jumbo Evans Sports Park would gain the planned phase-two lighting. The project agreement says the association uses the soccer fields under a county facilities-use agreement and that the improvements will remain county property.
The agreement sets a $259,000 project budget and caps the county’s contribution at $239,000. It assigns the remaining share to the association as a restricted donation.
BYSA must cover any budget shortfall within 30 days after written notice. If it cannot, the county may reduce the project or cancel all or part of it.
Comal County is responsible for preparing procurement documents. Commissioners must later select a winning bid and approve the construction contract, making the bid price and schedule the next consequential records.
