Comal County commissioners are scheduled to consider a second Parkhill amendment for Goodwin Maintenance Building survey work on Oct. 1.
The proposed amendment calls the payment a lump sum for additional surveying. Its exhibit directs surveyors to collect topographic information on a 50-foot grid, record above-ground features and utility markers, measure manhole elevations and gather property-line and roadway-elevation information along Loop 337 and Church Hill Drive.
The same exhibit depicts a proposed 5,000-square-foot Goodwin Maintenance Building, along with future county buildings of 13,000 and 40,000 square feet. Those labels describe the site plan in the contract document; the action before commissioners is the surveying amendment.
Two Amendments in Two Weeks
The first amendment, dated Sept. 17, added $18,250 for site master planning and evaluation of building locations. That work moved the proposed maintenance building from its original location, expanded it from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet and accounted for an existing memorial tree and public access.
Together, the first amendment and proposed second amendment would add $47,000 in professional services. Comal.News previously included the first amendment in its Sept. 17 county agenda guide; the new document adds a separate surveying scope and price.
What Happens Oct. 1
Agenda item 10 asks commissioners to approve the amendment and authorize the county judge to sign it. Until the court acts, the additional $28,750 remains a proposal rather than an approved contract expense.
