New Braunfels’ October 2026 sales tax allocation rose 20.4% from a year earlier to $4,575,828.64, according to a Comal.News comparison of Comptroller figures.

Garden Ridge moved in the opposite direction, while Bulverde’s allocation was nearly unchanged. The three cities received sharply different year-over-year revenue results in October.

The three-city comparison

The figures below put each October payment beside the comparable payment one year earlier; the percentages describe changes in the allocations, not changes in any resident’s tax bill.

Values are city allocations, as compared in the retained Comal.News derived record.

The contrast is largest in percentage terms between New Braunfels and Garden Ridge. Bulverde’s two October payments were close: $275,791.80 in 2025 and $275,583.58 in 2026. New Braunfels received the largest dollar allocation of the three in both years. Those comparisons describe the payments shown in this record; they do not establish why each city’s result changed.

What the next release can show

The Comptroller publishes a city allocation table. Readers can inspect the Comptroller city allocation table alongside this comparison to see the state record behind the figures. The October 2026 comparison gives residents a baseline for checking the next city allocation release. A later month can show whether the divergence continues, while city budget records would be needed to trace how each government uses its allocation.
