The New Braunfels Roadway Impact Fee Committee is scheduled to consider recommending a roadway impact fee package to City Council on Oct. 13.

Its posted agenda puts land-use assumptions, a roadway capital plan and two fee figures into one possible recommendation. A committee recommendation would be a step toward council consideration, rather than a final city fee decision. Readers can inspect the posted agenda for the full order of business.

What the fee recommendation covers

The agenda treats land-use assumptions and the roadway impact fee capital improvement plan as components of the recommendation. Those two components frame the growth and road-project assumptions that would accompany the fee figures sent to council. The committee can address them together at the meeting; the agenda describes possible action, so the eventual wording and scope of any recommendation depend on what the committee does Oct. 13.

The proposed recommendation also includes a maximum assessable impact fee, a collected rate and an effective date. For residents tracking growth costs, the proposed collected rate is the figure to watch because it is listed separately from the maximum assessable fee. The effective date is another part of the same pending recommendation.

Legistar item 26-1229 describes the recommendation as possible committee action for City Council. Residents comparing future versions of the proposal can use that item record to check exactly which land-use assumptions, capital-plan provisions and fee terms advance from the committee. Any number discussed at the meeting should be read in that context: a maximum assessable figure and a proposed collected rate serve different roles in the item’s wording.

The rest of the meeting

The New Braunfels Roadway Impact Fee Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the Tejas Room at City Hall, 550 Landa Street. The committee will also consider approving draft minutes from its Oct. 1 meeting. Those minutes concern the earlier meeting; their placement on this agenda does not establish what the committee will decide on Oct. 13. The published order also includes a call to order, roll call and adjournment.

The agenda sets aside citizens’ communications for nonagenda topics. That opportunity is separate from the scheduled discussion of the roadway fee recommendation. The committee is also scheduled to discuss its next meeting date and regular meeting schedule. Residents who want to track this proposal beyond Tuesday can watch for the committee’s resulting recommendation and its next posted meeting information.

What happens next

The committee’s item describes a plan to file written comments before a City Council public hearing on Oct. 26, 2026, at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. That hearing is the next dated council step identified in the retained item record. The committee’s Oct. 13 action, if any, will show which terms it forwards; the subsequent council record will show how the city handles the recommendation. To follow the exact proposal and its later history, check the item record for 26-1229.
