To subscribe to Comal County emergency alerts, sign in to the county’s Notify Me page and select the Emergency Alerts list under Alert Center.

The county also offers a separate Burn Ban list. Both appear on the county’s subscription page alongside controls for email and text messages. Start at the Comal County Notify Me page so you can see the county’s current list choices before selecting them.

Comal County residents can choose county general emergency alerts, burn-ban status notices, or both, using the county’s Notify Me lists. These are county lists. If you live in a city within Comal County, use this page for the county notices described here; check that city’s own official channels for any separate city alerts.

Choose the notices you want

On Notify Me, find the Alert Center section. Its two listed choices serve different purposes: Emergency Alerts is described as “General emergency alerts,” while Burn Ban is described as “Burn Ban status.” Select the list or lists that match what you want to receive. The county’s page says to click next to a list to subscribe or unsubscribe, so return to the same list if you later want to change that choice.

Set up your contact information

The page has a Sign In control and a link to create a website account. In its profile area, it asks for an email address and offers a choice to receive HTML emails when available. It also offers a choice to receive text messages on a mobile phone, with a phone-number field. The page warns that standard text messaging rates apply. Review those choices, enter the contact information you want to use and select Save for the profile settings shown on the page.

The profile area also displays name, address and a “How did you hear about this service?” field, followed by a Save Profile Information control. The page shows an Unsubscribe from All Lists option as well. Use the individual list controls when you want to change only one subscription; the all-lists option is labeled for removing every list. The county asks users to allow mail from its listed address through their spam blocker, a useful check if expected emails do not appear.

Check what the county has posted

For current notices, use the Alert Center navigation shown on the Notify Me page and read the notice itself. The subscription table tells you what kinds of notices you may receive; its category names do not tell you whether an alert is active today. Likewise, choosing Burn Ban provides a route for status notices, while the current status must be checked in the county’s posted information.

To review or change your county subscriptions, return to the official Notify Me page and sign in. It is the place to inspect the two Alert Center categories and your profile controls. For help with the county website, the page lists the Main County Mailbox at 150 N. Seguin Avenue, New Braunfels, and phone number 830-221-1100.
