For the November 3, 2026 Comal ISD bond election, the school board put two separate propositions before voters, and Comal County Elections lists the order, sample ballots and polling information.

The district's bond page describes what each proposition would fund; the county's elections page is the place to check the election documents and the ballot for your precinct.

Comal County voters who live in Comal ISD can examine both propositions and their precinct's sample ballot before voting. Comal ISD also extends into Bexar, Guadalupe, Hays and Kendall counties. District voters outside Comal County should use their own county's election office for polling locations and sample ballots.

Start with the order and the ballot

The Comal ISD Board of Trustees set the final ballot after receiving a recommendation from its Comal Forward planning committee, according to the district's FAQ. The county elections page lists a document titled “Comal ISD Order Calling A Bond Election November 3, 2026.” It also lists the district's election notice and several sample ballots identified by precinct. Find your precinct first, then choose the sample ballot labeled for it; the list includes different ballot combinations for different precincts.

Comal ISD's example has two propositions totaling $567 million. Proposition A seeks authority for $539,955,000 for facilities, land and buses; Proposition B seeks $27,045,000 for classroom technology. Voters may vote on both propositions independently. A different city or school district can present different projects and amounts: read that jurisdiction's own order and the propositions on your sample ballot instead of applying Comal ISD's figures to another election.

Principal is different from repayment

The $539,955,000 and $27,045,000 figures are the proposed bond amounts for the two purposes, not an annual tax bill for a household. Bonds create debt that is repaid later. Comal ISD says property taxes repay new debt, which is why the school-bond ballot must display “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.” The district also says it can finance this proposal within its existing tax rate. That statement concerns the rate; an individual tax bill can still change when appraised property value changes. The district's explanation is an estimate for this proposal, not a tax estimate for every bond election.

Approval would authorize the district to issue bonds for the purposes in an approved proposition; it would not mean that all $567 million had already been borrowed or spent on Election Day. To understand later costs, follow the district's subsequent debt and spending records. Comal ISD's published financial report separates a debt-service fund from other district finances, a useful place to examine repayment after bonds are issued.

Check dates and locations before you go

Early voting is scheduled for October 19–30. Election Day is November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the district says a voter in line by 7 p.m. is entitled to vote. The county elections page lists early-voting and Election Day polling locations, precinct information, sample ballots and past results. Its Elections & Voter Registration office is at 396 N. Seguin Avenue in New Braunfels and can be reached at 830-221-1352. For this election, use that office's page to confirm your ballot and location, then return to its results links after voting.
