Guadalupe River State Park’s Prairie Trail, equestrian parking and overflow parking are scheduled to close Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department lists the hours in its park alert.
Visitors planning to use the trail or either parking area during those six hours will need to adjust their park plans. The Saturday notice names those facilities; the alert separately lists whole-park closures for later dates.

The park also posted a burn ban dated Oct. 23. It bars ash-producing wood and charcoal fires but allows containerized fuel, such as propane, for cooking. Visitors bringing food should account for that restriction as well as the trail and parking closure.
The later park closures run from 8 p.m. Nov. 20 to noon Nov. 24 and from 8 p.m. Jan. 11 to noon Jan. 15. The alert says only permitted hunters may enter on those dates. Those are separate from Saturday’s six-hour trail and parking notice.
Before setting out, visitors can check the department’s current park alerts for any change to Saturday’s hours, the burn ban or the later whole-park closure dates.
