Fair Oaks Ranch will consider final approval of its $28,384,429 fiscal 2026–27 budget on Sept. 22.
The city’s packet projects a $209 annual city-tax increase for a home at the average taxable value. That equals about $17.42 a month, although an individual bill depends on taxable value and exemptions.
These are proposals, not completed decisions. The CivicClerk event record identifies a published special meeting linked to the budget agenda; a post-meeting record will be needed to establish the votes and any amendments.
Budget, tax rate and revenue
The proposed budget would raise $798,595, or 10%, more property-tax revenue than last year’s budget, including $98,628 from new property.
Item 5 asks council to approve a property-tax rate of 31.176 cents per $100 of taxable value on second and final reading. Item 6 asks council to ratify the property-tax revenue increase reflected in the budget.
The packet uses two examples: a $181 increase for a median homestead and a $209 increase for a home at the average taxable value. The different value measures mean the figures do not describe the same hypothetical property. Comal.News’ earlier agenda guide tracked the planned hearing and first readings.
How to attend or speak
The special meeting is scheduled for Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Police Station’s Public Safety Training Room, with a city YouTube livestream. The address is 7286 Dietz Elkhorn Road. The agenda includes a citizens-to-be-heard period, with sign-in required and a five-minute limit for each speaker. Items 1 and 2 cover roll call, quorum and the pledges.
What happens next
Items 4 through 6 are scheduled for council action Sept. 22; the post-meeting record will show whether they passed, changed or failed. Residents can inspect the agenda packet before the meeting, but it cannot establish the outcome.
