Comal County residents seeking food can use the San Antonio Food Bank’s ZIP-code distribution search, while households seeking help with electric, natural gas or propane bills can apply through the Community Council of South Central Texas.
The Food Bank’s Get Help page directs people who need food immediately to its distribution search and offers phone assistance locating a site.

CCSCT lists Comal among the counties served by its Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program. The program can make payments toward eligible home energy costs, but the agency says applications do not guarantee help because funding has decreased. Its program page says payments go directly to utility companies and do not cover water, sewer or garbage charges.
Find food now
Start with the Food Bank’s Find Food option and search by location or ZIP code for a distribution or pantry. The Food Bank says some events require advance registration: a successful registration produces a confirmation code, while no code means the event is at capacity. It also says walk-up or other transportation options may be available. For help finding a distribution, call Client Services at 210-431-8326. Its listed phone hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
