The Comal Appraisal District’s homepage lists a reappraisal-plan hearing for Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Comal County property owners have two dates to watch: the reappraisal-plan hearing is Aug. 26, and district appraisers begin field checks Sept. 1.
The hearing creates a public checkpoint six days before the district says its appraisers will begin field checks and reappraisals across the county. That sequence gives property owners a date to follow before the scheduled field work starts, while keeping the hearing and the later property visits as separate steps.
The district’s website also provides property-search, taxpayer-portal and interactive-map links, along with protest information and electronic-communication options. Those services are the official places for owners to check their records and use district forms as the reappraisal work proceeds.
The appraisal district says its role is to value property and administer exemptions within its jurisdiction. It also states that it does not collect taxes for taxing authorities, directing payments instead to the appropriate county tax office.
The district lists its office at 900 S. Seguin Ave. in New Braunfels and its hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After the Aug. 26 hearing, the next dated change in the notice is the Sept. 1 start of field checks and reappraisals.
