Comal Appraisal District says its appraisers will begin field checks and reappraisals across the county Sept. 1.
Comal County property owners are the local audience for the district’s countywide field checks and reappraisals beginning Sept. 1. The date gives residents advance notice that appraisal work will soon move from planning into visits around the county.
The start follows an Aug. 26 reappraisal-plan hearing listed among the district’s important notices. The same site directs property owners to its property search, taxpayer portal, interactive map, exemption information and material about how property is valued.
The district describes its job as valuing property and administering exemptions under the Texas Property Tax Code and appraisal standards. It separately tells taxpayers that the district does not collect taxes for any taxing authority; tax payments go to the appropriate tax office.
Before field work starts, the practical questions for a property owner concern identification, access and verification. The district’s site lists its office at 900 S. Seguin Ave. in New Braunfels, weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and public phone numbers residents can use to contact the office.
