The city's Oct. 5 update says intersection-improvement work at SH 46 West and Oak Run Parkway is paused while CenterPoint Energy relocates a gas line.
The city says work will continue after the relocation. Drivers face a changed work schedule at SH 46 and Oak Run Parkway. The update changes the timing of a project that the city originally announced in June.
What the original closure plan covered
The city's June 12 alert said Veramendi contractors planned to begin widening work June 15. Its original lane plan called for southbound Oak Run Parkway to narrow to one lane toward Hunters Creek, with the outside westbound lane of SH 46 West and its eastbound right-turn lane also affected. The alert initially estimated four months for the Oak Run restriction and three months for the SH 46 closures. Those were estimates in the original plan, before the city announced the pause.
Drivers planning to use the intersection can consult the city's SH 46 W and Oak Run Parkway lane-closure alert for the project description and any subsequent schedule update. The next useful public record is a revised city notice identifying when the gas line relocation is complete, when intersection work resumes and which movements will be restricted at that point.
