Schertz City Council is scheduled to consider an agreement with South Texas Tree Service LLC for tree and brush removal on Oct. 20. The proposal would allow the city manager to sign the agreement, giving the city a contractor for the service if council approves it.
For Schertz residents, the proposal would put a named contractor under agreement to provide city tree and brush removal services if council approves it. The draft resolution says city staff solicited proposals and determined the company qualified. Those are staff findings presented for council action, not a completed award.
The proposed agreement would take effect when the final signature is added and remain in force until the work is satisfactorily completed, unless it is terminated under the contract. It says the contractor may invoice after completing the described tasks and that work is expected to begin after the city issues a notice to proceed. Those provisions describe the draft contract; they do not establish that work has begun.
The proposal is listed as consent agenda Item 3 for the council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the council chambers at 1400 Schertz Parkway, Building 4. The agenda says residents who wish to address council should sign the speaker register before the meeting and limits presentations to three minutes. Residents can inspect the proposed terms in Resolution 26-R-122 and follow the agenda for the council's decision.
