Portillo’s $2.5M Filing Adds a 2807 Sophie Lane Checkpoint

The state record estimates work from November through May; a separate New Braunfels commercial permit identifies the 2807 Sophie Lane site.

Texas’ accessibility registry marks a $2.5 million Portillo’s Hot Dogs new-construction project in Comal County as Review Complete, with estimated work from Nov. 2, 2026, through May 3, 2027.

For New Braunfels customers, the city permit snapshot places the separate new-build application at 2807 Sophie Lane and shows it in review as of Aug. 24.

The state record is TABS2026025141, filed July 13. It identifies the project as Portillo’s Hot Dogs - New Braunfels, classifies the work as new construction and carries the raw status Review Complete. Its start and completion dates are estimates in the filing rather than a restaurant opening schedule.

The New Braunfels record is CP2026-609, filed July 22. It names Portillo’s Hot Dogs, classifies the permit as Commercial - New Build and shows the raw status IN REVIEW with an Aug. 24 status date. That city record supplies the 2807 Sophie Lane location.

The two labels belong to different review systems. Review Complete is the state architectural-barriers checkpoint; IN REVIEW is the city’s current commercial-permit status. Reading them together shows progress on one track while preserving the separate city approval sequence.

The next meaningful update will be a city status change or a company construction announcement. Either could firm up the work timetable and show when the proposed restaurant moves from applications into an active build.
