New Braunfels ISD lists a Long Range Sustainability Community Forum for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Long Creek High School, 4150 Klein Meadow in New Braunfels. The district’s BoardBook public listing supplies the address for people planning to attend.

Residents can attend the forum to give NBISD feedback on potential campus consolidation and its long-range sustainability process. The district says its forums are open to all community members, regardless of campus affiliation, and are intended to share information and gather feedback from parents, students, staff and other residents.

The district says the broader process addresses a projected $7 million funding deficit. It has published consolidation scenarios for consideration, but the Oct. 20 notice does not announce a decision on any scenario. A possible quorum of trustees may attend; NBISD describes its posting as a notice of possible quorum only, with no scheduled board meeting or agenda.

Residents can use the district’s sustainability page to review the process and its forum invitation before attending. What participants say on Oct. 20, and how that feedback shapes a later recommendation, will require a subsequent district record to verify.
