New Braunfels ISD plans to discuss an approximately $387,755 Power Lift equipment package for the New Braunfels High School Phase 2A weight room on Oct. 19, with no board action requested.
The district’s board letter says Power Lift ranked highest among four proposals for equipment, delivery and installation.
The proposed purchase would equip a weight room intended for New Braunfels High School student-athletes in UIL sports. The district says the room is part of Phase 2A of the replacement high school campus funded through the 2024 bond program. Its letter marks the proposed expense as budgeted from the 2024 bond fund.
According to the letter, the district sought complete-package proposals through a purchasing cooperative and evaluated four companies on warranty, quality, reputation and price. The letter prints $387,755.18 in its description and $387,755.15 in its budget table. Those figures differ by three cents, so the proposal is described here as approximately $387,755 pending a check against the original quote.
Trustees are scheduled to take up the equipment as discussion item 9.C at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19. The posted agenda and board letter let residents inspect the proposal and follow the discussion; the letter expressly requests no action at this meeting. A later board posting or purchase record would establish whether the district moves ahead.
