New Braunfels ISD says anyone may nominate a teacher, counselor, principal, school district or school board for the 2027 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards.
New Braunfels students, families and residents can submit nominations for local educators and school leadership through a statewide program that NBISD says will award more than $1 million in cash prizes.
The district opened the community opportunity in an Aug. 17 notice, creating a direct action residents can take before the program moves into finalist selection. NBISD described the 2027 awards as marking 25 years of educator recognition across Texas.
The eligible pool extends beyond classroom teachers. NBISD expressly listed counselors, principals, school districts and school boards, allowing students and families to recognize individual educators as well as the institutions and governing bodies serving them.
The district notice supplies the core eligibility categories and the statewide prize scale. The program’s application materials will guide nominators through category definitions, supporting information and submission steps before entries advance into the awards process.
Residents considering a nomination should match their candidate with the appropriate program category and prepare specific evidence of the nominee’s work. The submission deadline, finalist list and winner announcements will mark the next public milestones for any New Braunfels entries.
