Classroom instruction and services for 40 four-year-old children could continue through June 30, 2027, if New Braunfels ISD trustees approve a proposed Head Start partnership extension.

New Braunfels ISD trustees are scheduled to consider extending their Head Start partnership with the Community Council of South Central Texas on Oct. 19.

The proposed addendum would run from Nov. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, following the current contract's Oct. 31 end date. The district's board document says trustees approved the existing partnership in June and were advised an October extension would follow.

The proposal covers classroom instruction and services for 40 four-year-old children. Approval would extend the stated contract period for those services; the posted proposal does not establish the outcome of the trustees' upcoming decision.

The proposal appears as action item 10.D on the Oct. 19 board agenda. Trustees are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Residents can inspect the posted item and its listed attachments on the official agenda. The next verification point is the board's action on the addendum.
