New Braunfels ISD trustees are scheduled to hold a public hearing on the district’s 2025–26 FIRST financial rating and consider possible action on unlimited-tax school building and refunding bonds Oct. 19.

For district taxpayers, the Oct. 19 agenda puts a possible unlimited-tax bond decision on the board’s public calendar. The posted business describes potential action; it does not record an authorization or its terms.

Financial hearing and proposed bond action

FIRST is the financial-rating subject named for the public hearing. The district also scheduled a FIRST public hearing on its Oct. 13, 2025 regular board agenda. That earlier agenda provides a point of comparison for the type of hearing, while the Oct. 19 notice establishes the current meeting’s subject.

Trustees may also act on unlimited-tax school building and refunding bonds. The agenda identifies that proposed action separately from the FIRST hearing. Residents following district borrowing can use the posted agenda to track the proposal, then check the board’s subsequent record for the action actually taken.

Instruction, partnerships and spending

Other listed action items concern homebound instruction, a McKenna Foundation award agreement, a Head Start partnership addendum, vendor qualifications and General Fund Budget Amendment No. 1. Each is scheduled business rather than a decision already made. The agenda also lists discussion of a school resource officer interlocal agreement, campus improvement, facility condition and the budget.

When to follow the meeting

Trustees are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 19 at the NBISD Administration Center Boardroom. The BoardBook agenda is the public route for checking the scheduled business before the meeting and looking for the board’s later record of any decisions.
