Staff recommends awarding only the $159,000 base bid to Sadie Burche LLC for the Paul Davis Park trail project. The proposed base project would build an approximately six-foot-wide, four-inch-thick stabilized decomposed-granite trail at Paul Davis Park.
The Garden Ridge City Council's Oct. 7, 2026 agenda lists the proposed Paul Davis Park trail contract as item 7.5. The city's engineer, Halff, identifies Sadie Burche as the lowest qualified bidder in its Oct. 1 recommendation. The official council packet contains the staff form, recommendation, bid summary and plans. Council has not yet decided whether to award the contract.
Scope and price
The staff material says the work is supported by a Texas Parks and Wildlife grant. For park users, the proposal concerns the trail surface and route shown in the construction plans. The recommended base bid is a construction price, rather than a figure for the full project, the grant award or the city's share.
Three separately priced options are outside the recommendation: a $100,000 curb alternative, an $83,000 additional 600-foot trail alternative and a $66,000 additional 400-foot trail alternative. Staff and Halff recommend the base bid only, so the proposed contract would exclude those additions.
