Fair Oaks Ranch’s fiscal 2026-27 water and sewer rate schedule took effect Oct. 1, 2026, and runs through Sept. 30, 2027.

For a 3/4-inch water meter and sewer connection, the listed fixed charges total $121.02 a month before sewer usage and any charges not included in this calculation. That figure is a Comal.News sum of the charges in the city’s published rate schedule, rather than a quoted total bill or a measure of how much rates changed from last year.

What the fixed charges cover

The 3/4-inch water availability charge is $26.48 a month and includes the first 6,000 gallons of water. The schedule also lists a $17.81 surface-water fee, a 20-cent TCEQ fee and $29.69 in water debt service each month. Together, the listed fixed water charges add to $74.18. The listed fixed sewer charges add to $46.84: $28.94 for availability, a 5-cent TCEQ fee and $17.85 in debt service. The schedule shows zero-dollar Trinity Glen Rose and capital-reserve water charges and a zero-dollar sewer reserve charge.

The table reproduces the listed charges relevant to this calculation and the published residential usage rates. Fixed subtotals are Comal.News arithmetic from the city’s figures; usage rates are separate charges. The city’s rate page gives the underlying amounts and units.

Usage charges are additional. The $121.02 subtotal applies to the specified meter and sewer connection and is not a complete bill or a year-over-year comparison.

How usage affects the bill

Water use above the 6,000 gallons included with the 3/4-inch availability charge is subject to the schedule’s residential tiers, which list $3.81, $4.76, $7.14, $10.72, $16.07 and $24.11 per 1,000 gallons. The amount a household pays for water usage therefore depends on how much it uses and which tier applies. The fixed-charge subtotal does not include that additional water usage.

Sewer usage is billed at $6 per 1,000 gallons using the December through February winter average, which the city updates in March. New sewer customers are charged $36 a month for sewer usage until a winter average is established. Those rules mean two customers with the same listed fixed charges can have different total bills.

What to check next

Customers can use the city’s fiscal 2026-27 water and sewer rate schedule to identify their meter size, fixed charges and usage rates. A comparison with the city’s fiscal 2025-26 schedule is the next record needed to establish a year-over-year change; the $121.02 figure here is only the current schedule’s listed fixed-charge subtotal.

From the source record

Listed fixed charges under Fair Oaks Ranch’s schedule effective Oct. 1, 2026.The combined $121.02 is a fixed-charge subtotal, not a complete bill or an increase from the prior year.
