The Stage 2 status means a 30% pumping reduction for the San Antonio Pool, which includes Comal County. That is the pool named in the authority’s status record; the same record lists the Uvalde Pool separately.
The daily readings were lower than the corresponding 10-day averages: 149 cubic feet per second at Comal Springs and 640.3 feet at J-17. Those figures describe conditions on Oct. 18, while the averages describe a longer period. The authority also listed a 10-day average of 95 cubic feet per second at San Marcos Springs.
These measurements are a conditions update, rather than an announcement that a new stage began on Oct. 18. Residents can check the authority’s current aquifer conditions for the next readings and the San Antonio Pool status.
