Comal County commissioners unanimously approved the final plat for Comal Elementary #22 at Meyer Ranch on Sept. 3, with a change removing a proposed building-setback variance.
The action appears in the county’s Sept. 3 minutes, approved Oct. 9; it addresses the school site and associated road work.
What the approval covers
The item concerned a replat of Lot 908, Meyer Ranch Unit 16, for Comal Elementary #22. A separate plat and variance attachment is part of the county record. The approved item includes public right-of-way along South Cranesmill Road and construction-bond surety for road and stormwater work.
Commissioner Leecock moved to approve Item 4, Commissioner Haag seconded, and the vote was unanimous. The change struck the building-setback variance from the request. Assistant County Engineer Vollbrecht told the court that only a right-of-way variance remained, concerning 50 feet on the back side of the school. He said older rules applied to that portion of the request.
