A proposed $44,854 increase would lift Comal County’s public-health grant allocation to $239,942 and support a 12-month adult immunization coordinator, training travel and outreach supplies.
The newly posted budget attachment raises the proposed allocation from its original $195,088 level for the contract period ending Nov. 30, 2027.
The proposed job would coordinate adult vaccination education, appointments and mobile clinics with community organizations in Comal County. The job description assigns one full-time employee to expanding access to education and vaccination sites, arranging appointments and working with local groups on mobile clinics and vaccine awareness.
The new form lists the original award at $195,088 and the revised allocation at $239,942. That is a $44,854 increase within the same contract examined in earlier Comal.News coverage, which reported a proposal to direct the original award to personnel and fringe-benefit costs.
The displayed budget summary totals $101,089 in direct costs: $67,186 for personnel, $25,403 for fringe benefits, $6,500 for travel and $2,000 for supplies. The personnel sheet identifies one full-time adult immunization coordinator with an estimated monthly wage of $5,599 for 12 months.
Training and conference travel account for the proposed travel budget. The form lists CPR and basic-life-support instructor certification in San Antonio, the National Homeland Security Conference, a regional advisory council symposium in Galveston and state-announced immunization training in Austin.
The supplies request would cover paper for educational materials and general office items used for public-health education. The form connects those materials to information about county health services and vaccine-preventable diseases, placing resident outreach alongside the proposed coordinator position and training expenses.
Commissioners Court is scheduled to consider the request at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 3 at 100 Main Plaza. The item remains a proposal until the court acts; the meeting agenda gives residents the time and location and says public comments are limited to three minutes per person.
