A $7.19 million estimate for roads, drainage and site work sits behind a proposal to extend financial security for Canyon Ranch Unit 3, preserving a county safeguard while the subdivision’s infrastructure work continues.
Comal County commissioners will consider accepting a one-year extension of financial security for road and stormwater improvements at Canyon Ranch Unit 3, backed by an attached $7,188,503.30 construction estimate.
If approved, Comal County would retain a financial-security mechanism for Canyon Ranch Unit 3’s road and stormwater work for another year.
The estimate divides the work into five categories: $2,388,284.30 for drainage, $1,687,401 for paving and site improvements, $1,052,603 for detention ponds, $517,022 for erosion controls and $1,543,193 for clearing and excavation. Those figures describe estimated construction work, not the amount of the proposed letter of credit.
Commissioners are scheduled to consider the extension at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in the Commissioners Courtroom at 100 Main Plaza in New Braunfels. The consequential records after that meeting will be the recorded action and final financial-security documents, which can establish the approved amount, expiration date and conditions for release.
