Comal County’s proposed 2027 schedule sets dozens of charges across sheriff, animal-control, road, environmental-health, recycling and court services; Commissioners Court is scheduled to vote Aug. 20.
Residents would pay listed amounts including $35 to $105 for first or second dog impounds, $40 for a floodplain permit and $15 to $60 for brush dumping, if the schedule is adopted.
The sheet also lists $85 for many sheriff or constable citations and notices, $275 for several writs, $300 for a sewage-facility permit below 500 gallons per day and $500 for a larger one. A new subdivision plat would carry a $500 review charge, $100 per resulting lot and another $3,000 when roads are included.
These are proposed charges, not adopted ones. The Aug. 20 agenda places Resolution 2026-16 before Commissioners Court, and the draft resolution says approved fees would take effect Jan. 1, 2027. The vote comes during the county’s broader budget work and follows its proposed property-tax-rate estimate.
The consequential question before the vote is which charges would change from 2026. A line-by-line comparison with the adopted 2026 fee schedule would answer it; the final resolution and vote record will show whether commissioners revise the proposal.
