Bulverde's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will discuss possible staff direction on a contribution-wall tree in Bulverde Community Park on Oct. 20.

The board also has two other park-feature questions before it: where red yucca might be planted and where benches should sit. Each is listed for discussion and possible direction to staff, so the meeting could shape later work without the posted agenda establishing a final design or location. Residents who use city parks could see changes to planting and seating if the board later directs staff and a plan is carried out.

Contribution-wall tree

The tree discussion is tied specifically to Bulverde Community Park. The useful question for residents is what direction, if any, the board gives staff about that feature after discussing it. The posted agenda identifies the subject and the possibility of direction, but supplies no adopted design in this meeting notice. Readers can compare any later minutes with the contribution-wall tree item in the posted agenda to see how the board handled it.

Red yucca and park benches

The board will also review a proposed layout and potential planting sites for red yucca in city parks. That wording leaves the planting locations open for discussion. It gives park users a specific point to watch: whether staff receives direction about a layout, particular sites, or both. The agenda names city parks generally for this item; the Community Park location specified for the tree should not be assumed to apply to the red yucca proposal.

The agenda identifies current park benches as the subject of possible relocation. The separate bench item covers placement as well as potential relocation, making existing seating part of the discussion. For residents, the practical question is whether a later plan would shift where they can sit in a park. The posted item leaves the placement choice for the board’s discussion; a later record will be needed to establish any direction the board actually gives.

Other business and attending

The agenda also proposes approval of the Sept. 15 meeting minutes. That is a separate item from the three park-feature discussions. The board’s remaining business includes future agenda requests, a City Council update and a Public Works Director update. Those entries may provide context for future park work, but the posted notice assigns no specific outcome to them.

The posted order begins with a call to order and ends with adjournment. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 6 p.m. in the Bulverde City Hall Council Chamber, 30360 Cougar Bend, Bulverde, TX 78163. That is the time and place listed for anyone following the park discussions in person.

Public comments and the next record

Item 3 is labeled “PUBLIC COMMENTS NOT RELATED TO POSTED AGENDA ITEMS.” It is listed after the board business. The label is useful to read before attending because the three park-feature discussions are posted agenda items. The agenda supplies the meeting order and subjects; the later official minutes or a verified recording review will be the place to check what was said and whether officials responded.

After Oct. 20, the next verification point is the official meeting record: it should show whether the board approved the prior minutes or gave staff any direction on the tree, red yucca or benches. Until then, the posted agenda is the primary record for the board’s scheduled business and meeting details.
